New Hydrogeomorphic Floodplain Model Paper Published

The master’s work of Kara Scheel has been published in JAWRA. This was an exciting collaboration with Fernando Nardi and Antonio Annis from the University of Foreigners in Perugia, Italy, in which we applied a hydrogeomorphic floodping mapping model to explore the impacts of levees of floodplain inundation. Congrats to Kara! Scheel, K., R.R. Morrison, A. Annis, and F. Nardi. 2019. “Understanding the Large‐Scale Influence of Levees on Floodplain Connectivity Using a Hydrogeomorphic Approach.

AGU Success

This was the first year taking a group of students to AGU, and it was a great experience. Not only were my students blown away by the scale of AGU, but I wasn’t responsible for giving a single presentation. I did, however, co-convene a session on socio-hydrologic resiliency, which was a great networking experience. Below are some of the highlights from this year’s trip.
